Introduction

The Dynasty Baseball League was formed in 1901 and included ten teams located in the northeast quadrant of the country. These teams were organized into two 5-team divisions. Teams were assigned to divisions based on minimal travel, which was primarily by rail.

My concept behind the DBL was to create an alternative history to the MLB and interject some of my favorite fictional players from movies, television, and novels. I also wanted to do more than just report on games or seasons - but to tell short stories of the players, the teams, and the circumstances surrounding this fictional world. 

Stories may not be chronological. My hope is to write them as certain events catch my attention as I study the leagues history.

For example; One of my favorite players is Roy Hobbs from the book/movie "The Natural". I placed him into the DBL's 1939 season with a set of abilities converted from what we know about him from the two resources. My first story on this blog will cover his "rookie" year, and other stories will develop his career in the DBL.

This is basically an exercise to create short stories, stimulated by the game. I hope it is enjoyable as well as the creative supersize it is meant to be.
